drivers for the WinDisc. The drivers can be found at http://www.WinDisc.com/ If
you still have problem setting up the WinDisc, then

When the LED is flashing, that
indicates the Drive is in use and data is transferring
between the WinDisc and host machine. (Cautions!!
Don¡¯t pull out WinDisc at this moment, the data will

it means data transfer is taking place, do not remove

hard drive, it can get virus via any files that you save
onto it. Therefore anti-virus software is

switch on the rear side of the WinDisc. When the
switch is opened, the data can be read and written
from/to the WinDisc, when it is closed, the data can

Yes, the WinDisc can be used
as a boot disk. If you want to use this function, first
step to make sure the USB-ZIP or USB-HDD function is

Yes you can. Just be aware that
when you format your WinDisc with NTFS, you will lose
a portion of your WinDisc memory to the format
files that NTFS uses. For example, on an 8MB WinDisc,
you may lose more than 1MB to the files that NTFS will
place on your WinDisc. Or on an 128MB WinDisc, you
may lose up to 8MB to NTFS files. Before formatting, be
sure that you are willing to lose this space to NTFS. |

inserting and removing of the WinDisc, to give time to
the operating system to recognize the WinDisc. Avoid

pull the Pen Drive out? |

If an application is running and
you pull out the WinDisc, the computer screen will go
blank. Just press the "Esc" key to return to normal. But

on the WinDisc, whether they are text, graphic,
program, music or multimedia files. |

Water may otherwise cause a short circuit when inserted

No, you don¡¯t. Because the
WinDisc acts just like a normal hard drive, once data
is erased from it, that data is permanently
lost. |

My WinDisc has bad blocks, how
can I get it fixed? |

You can use this UMSD23.exe
utility to recover the device. It will make the device
back to its initial status. However, if there are some
bad blocks in the flash memory, after you run this
utility with scan option, its size maybe less than its
initial size and data on the WinDisc will be
lost. |

When I plug in my WinDisc
using Windows 2000, the system does not find a driver
and the hardware wizard pops up, what do I
do? |

Sometimes, when installing or
upgrading Windows 2000, the usbstor.inf file becomes
corrupted. The usbstor.inf file automatically links
between USB storage devices and the Windows' USB mass
storage class driver. To restore this file, do the
following: 1) Enable your system to view hidden files
2) Go in your Winnt\INF folder 3) Find the
usbstor.inf file, make a copy of it (preferably name it
usbstor.inf.bac) and put it in a safe. |
